

With the recent merger of VodafoneThree, it’s no secret that you’re now the largest mobile operator in the UK. While we remain a smaller, independent business at Houston & Hawkes, rest assured we are experts at supporting larger, multi-site operations. Our biggest contract to date is with Regent’s University, where we cater to over 2,500 students as well as a sizeable events business within their Summer marquee, which this year served over 20,000 guests.
As part of our mobilisation over the Christmas break in 2024, we successfully TUPE’d over 92% of the catering team, demonstrating our attentive and supportive attitude when transitioning services. With a short mobilisation window, we were able to train the 40-person team efficiently without compromising on service standards. Senior management has praised this quality, noting how truly felt our presence has been.
A standout achievement was transitioning the Starbucks outlet to our own branded GoodBrew coffee. Switching from such a notable household brand, especially amongst a younger student demographic, was a strategy that held its risks but has paid off three-fold with an increase in sales, positive feedback from students, and a significant cut in supply costs.
A key differentiator of this contract is its 7-day service, running breakfast and lunch services all week with an additional dinner offer running Monday to Friday. Operating across two coffee shops, a restaurant, deli, brasserie and large events business, we have really expanded our reach with Regent’s, guaranteeing our ability to meet large scale catering needs.
